Corporate newsletter writing can be interesting – a chance to tell a story and help a company achieve its objectives at the same time. When those objectives entail sustainability, it’s work right in my primary target zone. I’ve been lucky to write for four different BC Hydro newsletters. Two keep me busy every month: Power of Business, which is aimed at small and medium sized enterprises (through to major retailers and offices), and Current, which is for industrial customers. These focus on energy-efficient technologies, stories of companies doing energy retrofits and upgrades, and other demand side management/business case issues. I do some writing for Smarter Homes about sustainable building, and have contributed to Connected, for residential customers. Samples are below.  The content, key drivers, and tone and rhythm vary depending on audience, but the fundamental message is the same – a good writer’s exercise.
